2025-26 federal grant information presented to Virginia Beach School Board

The Virginia Beach School Board received information about proposed federal grant applications at its May 13 meeting. For the 2025-26 school year, Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) would receive approximately $21.6 million in formula grant funds through programs authorized under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).

Our School

Fairfield Elementary opened in September, 1975. Located in the now densely populated Virginia Beach borough of Kempsville, the school serves the neighborhoods of Fairfield, Fairfield Gardens, Fairfield Forest, Newlight, Lake Archway, Carriage Mill, Woodbridge, Lake James, Saginaw Estates, Stoneybrook, Jamestowne, Homestead, Birnam, Haven Heights, Haven Estates, and Whitehurst Grove. Fairfield Elementary has an average enrollment of about 500 students. Fairfield Elementary is known for its culture of excellence. The Fairfield community is highly supportive and involved. The teachers and staff are dedicated to helping all students reach their true potential.
